Brixton Run Club – Terms & Conditions

1. General Terms and Definitions
“Brixton Run Club” refers to the running club associated with Brixton Run Club.
“Brixton Run Club Organiser” refers to any volunteer or representative involved in organising Brixton Run Club events.
“Participant” refers to any individual taking part in a Brixton Run Club social run or related activity.
2. Age Limit
Participation in Brixton Run Club events is restricted to individuals aged 18 years and over.
3. Agreement to Terms and Conditions
By participating in any Brixton Run Club event, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
Failure to do so may result in removal from events or expulsion from the Brixton Run Club community.
4. Health and Safety
Participants are solely responsible for their own health and wellbeing during Brixton Run Club events.
This includes any injuries or health issues, whether arising from participation or pre-existing conditions.
Brixton Run Club Organisers are not medically trained and cannot assess individual fitness levels.
By taking part, you confirm that you are in good health and physically capable of participating safely.
5. Risk Acknowledgement
All participation in Brixton Run Club events is entirely at your own risk.
Brixton Run Club assumes no responsibility for the actions or omissions of participants.
Brixton Run Club does not provide personal accident or liability insurance coverage for participants.
6. Etiquette and Conduct
Brixton Run Club aims to maintain an inclusive, respectful, and positive environment.
Participants must conduct themselves accordingly.
Zero-tolerance policy:
Brixton Run Club will not tolerate offensive, inappropriate, or unsafe behaviour, including but not limited to:
Intimidation or harassment (verbal, physical, or sexual)
Abusive or discriminatory language
Physical violence or aggressive conduct
Disrespect towards others, organisers, or the public
Brixton Run Club reserves the right to take appropriate action, including temporary or permanent suspension from events or removal from the community.

7. Safety and Courtesy
Participants are expected to act responsibly and courteously at all times.
You should alert fellow runners to potential hazards such as vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, obstacles, or uneven terrain.
8. Photography and Media
Brixton Run Club may capture photographs or videos during events for promotional purposes.
By attending, you consent to the use of such images or recordings by Brixton Run Club, its affiliates, sponsors, and media partners.
If you wish not to appear in photos or videos, please inform an organiser prior to the event.
9. Bag Drop and Lost Property
Neither Brixton Run Club nor any associated venues (e.g., cafés, restaurants) providing bag drop facilities accept liability for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.
Items are left entirely at participants’ own risk. Please avoid leaving valuables unattended.
10. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude Brixton Run Club’s liability for:
Death or personal injury resulting from negligence by Brixton Run Club or its organisers;
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
Any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by applicable law.
Subject to the above, Brixton Run Club, its affiliates, sponsors, and third-party partners’ total aggregate liability to any participant shall not exceed £25.
11. Personal Information
Brixton Run Club may collect and process limited personal data (e.g., telephone numbers) to facilitate communication and event coordination, with the explicit consent of participants.
You may withdraw consent or request the removal of your personal data (e.g., from WhatsApp groups) at any time by messaging @brixtonrunclub on Instagram.
12. Changes to These Terms
Brixton Run Club reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.
Participants will be notified of any changes, which shall take effect immediately upon publication.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions and any disputes arising from them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
